The Nievole
Valley museum system, designed around seven selected thematic itineraries, is
an attempt to create a continuous interchange between the museums and the territory
and back again. These thematic itineraries have no desire to exhaust the variety
of cultural proposals in the area but are aimed instead to create containers
that can simplify the understanding of such a variegated zone. The museums supply
us with the right instruments for following an itinerary into the past through
the territory, reconstructing the various stratigraphic contributions. Each
museum is included in several thematic itineraries, according to the various
cultural vocations it offers. A special symbol shows the museums included in
the various itineraries described on the relative information leaflet. In this
way each museum can provide further interesting ideas for theme visits to the
cultural and natural heritage of the Nievole Valley area. The leaflets dedicated
to the district around each of the towns are instead marked with a specific
thematic symbol to show the various ways in which the museum itinerary can be
integrated.
